The Boston Celtics captured their record 17th NBA championship, and first since the Larry Bird era 22 years ago, by trouncing the Los Angeles Lakers 131-92 in Game Six on Tuesday.

The victory clinched the best-of-seven series 4-2.

Paul Pierce #34 of the Boston Celtics was named NBA Finals MVP.
